This FAQ is here to help + advise you pre-purchase, so please make sure you read through carefully before purchasing. If you are unsure of anything or your query is not covered here, please email me before committing to an purchase.
What platforms do you use?

Currently, I am only developing on WordPress, out of choice.

I can + will develop on other so please ask if you are interested in using another platform.

Do you include domain + hosting?

Custom and premade theme prices do not include domains or hosting.
This is something you need to obtain yourself.
I can + am happy to provide you with information on this + talk you through the process should you require it. You can read through my guide on this topic here or email me for further help.

What is the cost of a website?

The total cost of your website depends highly on what your needs are, but here are all the things that you need to consider + pay for in order to run a successful website:

  • Host + Domain
  • Design + Development / Premade Theme
  • Maintenance + Updates

Extras that you may want to consider if you are running a business:

  • Graphics
  • Logos
  • Branding
  • Content
    • Premade themes are a fixed price that you will see in the shop. If required, you may have to pay for extras, but these are optional + not required.

      Custom themes are in fixed project package costs. This ensures you that there will be no hidden costs down the line + we both know what is expected of the project up front, making life a little easier for the both of us. You can also purchase any extras that you may require, but again, are only optional

Can you help with installation?

Every theme that I develop, both custom + premade, come with an installation + setup guide for your website. If you would prefer me to do this for you I can, however it will require me having access to your WordPress or host account.

For premade themes, there will be an extra charge for installation. Please see this add on that you can purchase should you require it.

Depending what custom theme package you choose, installation may be included in your price. If not, you will also need to purchase the installation add on.

Can my website have a blog?

Blogging is everywhere right now + everyone loves to blog. They play a key role when running a business + they help to boost website ranking on search engines. You can indeed have a blog + WordPress is the best platform for this. You can either purchase one of my premade blog themes from the shop or request a custom theme.

Can I have an online store?

Yes you can.
This is called e-commerce + is easily available using the WordPress platform which is very popular for it’s CMS system ensuring that it is easy to update + maintain your inventory + content no matter your tech skills. This is installed, developed + styled using a plugin called WooCommerce.

All e-commerce themes come with a guide on how to install the theme including WooCommerce.

I have a collection of premade e-commerce themes in the shop, or you can request a custom theme.

Will my online store be secure?

Yes. Very. As my e-commerce stores are made using Wordpress WooCommerce, you can guarantee that they will be secure. Please read their security + privacy policy documents to ease your mind:

Can I update my website + how easy is it to do?

WordPress is very easy to update + manage your content due to the Content Management System (CMS) installed. Each theme comes complete with a guide so that you can install your theme with ease + you can find various tutorials over on the support page allowing you to edit + maintain your content easily.

Any design changes will need to be done via the template files + will require coding, which I only recommend if you are confident in doing so. Any changes to the code that you make in error, are not supported by myself. If I can fix them, I will but there will be a charge for this along with any design changes that you would like me to make. Additional fees for such extra's can be found on the services page.

What is CMS?

CMS (Content Management System) is a web-based publishing tool which allows all users (of all technical skillsets) to update + manage website content with a few simple clicks of your mouse.
With CMS you are able to add text + image content, add pages + posts, edit navigation + menus, add, edit, remove plugins, apps + widgets, + so much more. You will be able to 100% control the content of your website, blog or shop.
All WordPress projects are CMS + amongst your completed website files, you will receive a guide on how to use the CMS platform that you will be working from.

What is SEO?

SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is a number of strategies + techniques used to increase the traffic (number of visitors) to a website by obtaining a high page ranking placement in search engine results. Search enginges: Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.. This is obtained by using certain keywords, tags, formats, content + links within your website files.

Will my website be optimised for mobile viewing?

Yes. In today's world, 80% of website users view a website on a mobile device. All of my designs are responsive, which means that it will adapt for all modern device types + sizes.
If you would like this turned off so that your mobile website matches your desktop website, this can be arranged.

I need extra design services, can you help?

If you can't find a service listed that you require, then please do get in touch with some details + I will be happy to try + help you or point you in the right direction.

Can I pay in instalments?

Only custom client themes can be paid in instalments. All premade themes are instant payment + instant download from the shop.

For custom themes, a custom listing will be set up for you to purchase. This can be done with one full payment, or 3 separate listings to pay gradually as the project progresses.

  • The first listing will be a 50% (non refundable) deposit of the total project cost which will need to be purchased before any work begins to secure your booking + then sets my availability status to offline for other clients that enquire.
  • The second listing will be upon completion of the website design + development which will be 40% of the total project cost + again will need to be purchased before further work is carried out.
  • The third + final listing of 10% of the total project cost will be made once I have handed all of the website files over to yourself.

Payment example:
Total project cost: £400.00

  • First payment: £200.00 (50% deposit)
  • Second payment: £160.00 (40%)
  • Third payment: £40 (10%)
What are your payment methods + policies?

All payments (PB website / Etsy) for both custom + premade themes are made + transferred securely using PayPal.

What are your turn around times on custom themes?

Each custom theme + client varies, so there is no set timescale.
I will determine your deadline before any work begins + I will work with you to ensure that this is met.
The majority of projects that I work on take between 4-8 weeks, but this may vary depending on your requirements.

Is there a contract?

All custom client themes are contracted yes. After completion of your project brief questionnaire, you will be sent an agreement cotract that will include the services agreed, costs + your payment plan.
You must read + return the signed contract to myself before any payment or work starts.

How soon can you start my custom theme?

I only take on custom themes if I am 100% available to meet your deadline + requirements. I will send over a project brief to get an idea of what it is you require for your website + if both sides are happy to go ahead, the work will start upon receipt of your signed contract + deposit.

If I am not available for work due to other projects, I will advise you of the wait time + you can be added to my wait list if you wish.

What happens if I am not happy with my theme?

The likelihood of you not liking the completed custom theme is very low.
I will work with you throughout the project to ensure that you are happy with what I am doing. Don't worry, I wont bombard you, but check ins with you will be made to ensure I am on the right path or if you have a change of mind about anything once you see it online.
If you genuinely do not like the completed project, I am more than happy to continue working with you until you are happy. Your deposit is non refundable + final payment will not be expected until you are 100% happy.

As long as we are honest, open + patient with each other from the start, I'm sure we can complete the project to your requirements without any hiccups.

For Premade themes purchased from the shop, I can work with you to help you get your theme to the way you like it, however refunds are not available on premade themes due to the nature of them being digital downloads. Please contact me if you need help or are unhappy with your theme + I will work with you to sort it out.

How do I download a premade theme?

Upon placing your order, you will receive a confirmation email/receipt via the email that you checked out with. There will be a link to your file download in this email. You can also find a copy of all purchases and downloads in the My Account dashboard.

This email can take up to 24 hours to arrive in your inbox, but usually takes a few minutes.
If you feel that you have not received a confirmation after payment has gone through, then please let me know.
