My theme doesn’t look like the demo

If you are new to WordPress + you have just installed your new WordPress theme, you may be looking at a pretty blank + down right different looking website to what you thought you were purchasing.
Do not panic. This is normal.

You just need to configure a few settings + follow the setup instructions in your theme guide to get it looking the way you would like. Add some page content + blog posts + it will be looking pro in no time.

If you have a content packed website up + running already you will still need to run through the setup instructions in your theme guide to get it looking the same as the demo you purchased.

Blog posts are not displaying on My homepage

This usually means that you have your Front Page set as a static page rather than your actual blog page. You can easily change this:

In your WordPress Dashboard navigate to Settings > Reading

Here you will see the following page:
WordPress Home Page not Showing Blog Posts | PIXEL BOUTIQUE | WordPress Tutorials and Tips

Under the section "Front Page Displays" you have two options:

  • Your latest posts: Select this if you wish your blog posts to be your home page.
  • A static page:
    • Front page: Select which page you wish to be shown as your home page.
    • Posts page: Select which page you wish to be shown as your blog posts page.

Once you have made your selection, scroll to the bottom of the page and hit Save.
Refresh your website to view your new home page.

Mobile view does not look right

Every PB theme is developed with modern devices in mind, which means that your desktop, mobile + tablet should all show the same theme but slightly different layouts depending on the width of the device you are using. This is called “Responsive Design”.

If your theme is completely different to what you purchased + looks a bit blue, like this:

...then it is because of the settings you have in your Jetpack plugin.

In your WordPress dashboard navigate to Jetpack > Settings.

Click on the Appearance  tab on this next page.

You then need to turn off the Mobile Theme setting.

Hit Save.

Your mobile / tablet view should now look like the theme that you purchased.
